I teach a range of students successfully- from outright beginners to emerging professionals.

Armed with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance, extensive performance experience and post-graduate study with vocal pedagogue and scholar Shirlee Emmons and international opera singer Rosa Vento, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my voice students. Voice lessons are typically 60 minutes long, once per week. The first portion of the lesson is dedicated to vocal exercises and technique. The second half is dedicated to your vocal literature. I teach at my home studio in Sarasota, Florida, but also am happy to teach online via Skype or Zoom.

If you want precise, technical instruction delivered with care and compassion, reach out today. Schedule your first lesson and we’ll see if we are a good match. I’d love to help you accomplish your musical goals.

Google Reviews from current and former students:

“I have experienced working with Martha not only as a student, but also collaboratively as a composer. She is an absolute joy. As a teacher, she encourages and adapts to different learning styles to teach her students how to teach and help themselves grow in their skills. As a fellow artist, Martha really invests in the projects she believes in. She does everything in her power to do justice to the message of a piece of music, and everyone I’ve seen her work with has had a wonderful time with it. I can’t speak highly enough of my dear Ms. Lopez.” – N.C.

“Martha is an incredible Opera Singer also gifted with the ability to teach. Martha goes beyond an average instructor who masters their own talent and simple pass it on to others, rather she is also able to identify potential, hidden gifts in students and bring them all to life.” – V.T.

“I took voice lessons with Martha for 3 years with a focus on art song and opera arias. As a teacher she was able to meet me where I was at in my vocal development from a pretty early beginner to a preparing for university auditions and performing a 20 minute recital. During lessons Martha is encouraging and kind while employing her vocal knowledge in order to provide effective constructive criticism which allowed me to develop my skills over the course of my lessons with her. She was always realistic about my skill level and assigned appropriate material for me to work on. She is also a very competent pianist so she is able to accompany students during lessons for the full experience. All around Martha is a wonderful teacher who I would highly recommend!” – E.A.
