About Martha
Martha Ana Lopez is a distinguished lyric coloratura soprano, classically trained pianist, and dedicated educator. A passionate advocate for art song, she performs in recital nationwide and has released four acclaimed recordings. She has appeared with Opera Tampa, New Century Opera, Saint Petersburg Opera, North Port Symphony, and the Pops Orchestra of Sarasota.
Martha served on the Voice Faculty at the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota from 2007 to 2019 and again from 2022 to 2024. She is Director of Music at the Church of the Nativity – Episcopal in Sarasota, where she serves as organist, pianist, and choir director. She maintains a thriving private voice and piano studio.
Beyond the stage, Martha is a Certified Tennis Coach (Level 1) through the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and coaches with the Buddy Up Tennis program at the Meadows Racquet Club in Sarasota. Buddy Up Tennis serves athletes with Down syndrome—an experience she considers one of the most meaningful pursuits of her life beyond music.
